The Patrons, Organizing Council, Committee and Charities of the War and Peace Ball are pleased to announce the 20th War and Peace Ball will take place in London’s Dorchester on Thursday 12th February 2009.
The L B E Orchestra and Russian star, Vika Tziganova guarantee to set the noble assembly alight. Guests attired in period dress relive the magic and beauty of the Russian imperial winter ball at the height of the Napoleonic war. The ball is ideal for entertaining personal and special business friends.
The War and Peace Ball, recalling the 1812 era and attracting some 400 guests from all over the world, is inspired by Leo Tolstoy’s epic masterpiece in which Natasha Rostova at her first ball is invited to dance by the dashing Prince Andrei.
The proceeds of The 2009 War and Peace Ball will be distributed to:
Life Action Trust UK reg. charity no 1060887, The Russian Orthodox Church of the Archangel Michael in Altea, Spain, and United Way Russia, a non-profit charity fund-raising company.
Life Action Trust, headed by Mrs Chrisanthy Lemos, is active in assisting hospitals, children in need, the ill as well as individual artists in Great Britain.
(The Russian Orthodox Church of the Archangel Michael in Altea, Spain, under the patronage of the late Maestro Mstislav Rostroprovich, is the first-purpose-built Russian Orthodox church in Iberia constructed of wood in Archangel North Russian style. United Way Russia is engaged in fundraising for Russian charities. It has the approval of the Russian authorities to legally collect and disburse funds for charitable purposes.)
